Aastha Chawla is currently a junior Computer Science & Engineering major and Music minor at Santa Clara University. Intrigued by the ability to combine her passion for music production and coding through app development, she joined the Santa Clara Laptop Orchestra (SCLOrk) ensemble in January 2020. With SCLOrk, she discovered a newfound love for storytelling through experimental music. Earlier this fall, she released an experimental EP, titled “SLEEPLESS,” documenting one's mental progression and gradual desensitivity in regard to the global pandemic. A passionate programmer and musician, she is a strong advocate for women in STEM and women in electronic music, and is building her own niche between music and tech through her work.
