"Lo Valdez is a digital designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design from San Jose State University. She has worked at startups as well as large companies like Fujitsu, Cisco, Intuitive Surgical, Apple and Facebook. Lo began learning Touchdesigner during the pandemic to help process the avalanche of grief she felt after her mom lost a long battle with cancer and to mitigate the loss of normalcy in her everyday life.
Her current art practice is focused on creating organic and abstract forms in Touchdesigner. Some include her original poetry that express common themes of love, loss and trauma. By being vulnerable, Lo feels she can have a deeper visual discourse with the viewer. As a society, we have all been through so much. She believes that by turning her pain into something beautiful she can help others to begin to heal as well. Transformation is possible through ""Digital Alchemy"".
