Part of the 10th annual CODAME ART+TECH Festival

By using the open source software modV you will be able to create audio reactive visualisations by combining different kinds of visual modules (2D, Interactive Shader Format and WebGL Shader) with any kind of audio input like a microphone or your favorite music. In the end you will know all the basics in order to do your first live performance as a VJ.

In collaboration with ilithya and Eliza we are able to use their awesome “Movement” shader in the workshop as a demo to show you how audio reactivity works. We also used it to generate the workshop cover image. Thank you super much!

『 SKILL LEVEL 』

• Beginner. No Coding required.
• If you do like to code, there's opportunity to write your own modV modules!

『 WORKSHOP OUTLINE 』

• History of and introduction to modV
• Learning to add images & audio
• Audio routing
• Audio reactive visuals and techniques for certain effects
• How to use modV for a live performance
• Break-out rooms for exploration, collaboration, and additional questions.

『 ATTENDES BRING 』

• Download the latest version of modV for Mac, Win, or Nix.
• Test audio routing before the workshop. Hop on the CODAME Discord for trouble shooting.
• Bring a song you want to visualize! 

And the usual:

• Computer & power/charger.
• Zoom installed ahead of time.
• Optional: 2nd monitor or screen so you can see the Zoom while working.
