Nexus is a collaborative piece where a machine learning algorithm interprets viewer’s inputs and creates images. Each participant submits answers to a short questionnaire, and an abstract personalized image is generated using machine learning labels that correspond to their answers. These labels allow viewers to interact with abstract art in concrete terms and images from users with similar responses to be visually similar. Individual personalized images are combined in one moving piece as a visual way for the participants to interact with another and viewers to witness responses.
