Abstract composition reflecting on the difficulties of life and the sadness that can overwhelm so easily >> but also a tribute to those who, out of spite, choose to face tomorrow with optimism.
The artwork was birthed while contemplating sad news shared by a persevering friend. the skies at the time seemed to portray my inner emotions with their foreboding feel. i captured them as digital photographs and manipulated them into 2d abstract works, but they felt incomplete. eventually, i started experimenting with them in a 3d context and arrived at two final compositions, one reflecting the sadness, one reflecting an enduring optimism despite the circumstances. the async.art platform was chosen due to it’s programmable nature allowing the states to cycle as our emotions and attitudes so often do.
