Joey Verbeke is a New Media Artist and the Head of AI Innovation, with a background in music and computer science. He focuses his work on imbuing qualities of surreality, curiosity, frisson, and exploring our ephemeral and finite sensory-limited existence. Leveraging technology as a medium, he searches for tangents from its linear progression to explore alternative and innovative applications, approaches, and perspectives. His work extends beyond subjective limits and gives the viewer a chance to question the reconstructed reality he creates. Verbeke’s work has been exhibited at galleries and institutions including Denver International Airport, Sundance Film Festival, SIGGRAPH, SXSW, TED, and Future of Storytelling.
