Matthew Cella fabricates multi-media works that are the product of digitally collaged .;::’til;ps and //??>s. Influenced by 8-bit aesthetics, Cella’s work is characterized by patterned pixels, flat planes of color, playful vibrations.
Cella has shown his work in Art by code at the Roll up Gallery at Public Works, CODAME Fashion, Art, & Technology at Public Works, and KNOW/HOW a live and silent auction to benefit Royal NoneSuch Gallery.
Born in 1981, he received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, and currently lives and works in San Francisco. Recent projects include Wasteland at SOAP Gallery in San Francisco, Bay Area Currents 2011 at the Oakland Art Gallery, and CUT/COPY at the Evergreen Valley College Fine Art Gallery in San Jose.
