Art by Code Reception 2013
Join CODAME ART+TECH in honoring the Art by Code artists in the groundbreaking exhibition that celebrates the spirit of creativity, innovation, and human ingenuity in the best tradition of the Silicon Valley.

The mostly bay area computer artists have been busily generating increasingly complex visual forms with tools that rely on open-source and use programs such as Java [processes], C++, [OpenFrameworks, Cinder], GLSL, JavaScript and AS3. These forms previously could not been imagined. The selection here represents a very small sampling of an explosive field and draws on the latest in computer technology from such fields like fractals, algorithmic processes, software art, digital illustration, 3-D software, and much more.

We hope to see many of you come in support of CODAME and the artists they promote so we can continue on this evolutionary path. Art by Code is here to stay!

Artists: Antonio Cortez, Inigo Quilez, Kristin Henry, Jon Kuzmich, Josh Nimoy, Matthew Cella, Nolan Love, Reza Ali, Ryan AlexanderTiffany Trenda, Wes Grubbs & Kim Rees.

Reception in the Gallery followed by short presentations by artists who reveal secrets behind their creations.

Roll up Gallery and CODAME ART+TECH will present 11 artists in conjunction with our FASHION+MUSIC - Fundraising Event Art by Code is a triumph of human ingenuity and a tribute to artists who dare to imagine, invent, and test the limits.   When: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Where: The Public Works SF 161 Erie St, San Francisco, CA  (map) RSPV: http://codame.eventbrite.com/ Art by Code is about computer code, art & language, digital art, and conceptual art and artists who are pioneering powerful ways in bridging art and technology. Artists use code as their primary artistic tool. Their creations represent dynamic systems incorporating algorithmic rules, simulation of physical properties, and complex systems theory that are generated by a variety of unique and complex written codes. We are proud to announce the following artist lineup:Reza Ali,Inigo Quilez, Matthew Cella, Ryan Alexander,  Jon Kuzmich, Josh Nimoy, Antonio Cortez, Tiffany Trenda, Wes Grubbs, Kim Rees, Nolan Love, Kristin Henry The exhibition curated by: Hanna Regev (http://thefutureimagined.com/) Bruno Fonzi, CODAME ART+TECH (http://codame.com/) Betty Bigas, Roll Up Gallery (http://publicsf.com/gallery)About CODAME ART+TECH Non-profit events bringing together artists, coders, game developers, creators, performers and musicians to experience the intersection of Art and Technology.Curatorial Statement by Hanna Regev Art by Code gives us an insight into a changing cyber universe populated by artists who brave new frontiers with their computational skills, and go beyond the limits of commercial software to create their unique codes that center on interactivity and user experiences. With Art by Code we aim to ignite the imagination of a new emerging generation and keep challenging the conventional ways of thinking about art and making art. The computer as the medium raises a host of intriguing questions and forces us to rethink what is art.
