Nolan Love – CODAME Featured Artist
Nolan Love is a Bay Area visual artist and web entrepreneur. Originally from NH, Love came to SF in 1999 by way of a stint in the Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa. This piece – a mosaic portrait of a baby born to his host family in Guinea – renders a subject from the rural, low-tech, developing world using high-tech virtual tools and urban materials. Love is interested in the emergent properties of ordered systems, the different meanings that exist at different scales, and the tension between them.
