Exposure is The Grid’s new annual festival format, an art + tech expo in San Francisco. Through art, panels, talks, and workshops, Exposure works towards shaping technological development in a sustainable and responsible manner for the benefit of all.

“Blurring Borders” encompasses our current state while also calling for action. Both art and technology constantly blur the borders of the possible and the imaginable, the limits of human beings, and the separation of man and machine - thus opening up new unexpected realities. We will blur the artificial boundaries between the silos of art, technology, and policy. We will create a shared experience by blurring the polarization within and between different communities.

The first edition of The Grid: Exposure - Art + Tech + Policy Days takes place entirely virtually between September 10-13, 2020. Exposure will be part of this year's Ars Electronica Festival 2020 "In Kepler's Garden" by curating the AIxMUSIC Garden Silicon Valley.

The Grid is a global platform connecting artists and tech/nologists. It was launched in Silicon Valley by European representatives and has since transformed into a multi-stakeholder platform of international art organizations, for-profit technology companies, representatives of civil society, academic and research institutions, local and international government offices, start-ups and beyond. The Grid incorporates art-thinking practices into the development of new technologies and jump-starts a conversation between artists, technologists, and policy makers from around the world.
